Two Foreigners Arrested for Fatal Stabbing of Myanmar Citizen in Cameron Highlands

Kuala lumpur: Two Myanmar men, aged 21 and 23, were apprehended at 12:05 am on Tuesday for their alleged involvement in the fatal stabbing of a fellow Myanmar national in Tringkap, Cameron Highlands, which occurred on Monday.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Cameron Highlands district police chief Supt Azri Ramli reported that the police were alerted to the stabbing incident around 11:54 pm on Monday. The two suspects were subsequently arrested in close proximity to where the incident took place.

“The victim, aged 50, was discovered unconscious and covered in blood, while his wife sustained head injuries,” Supt Azri Ramli stated. During the arrest, law enforcement seized several weapons, including two knives and a steel rod. The victim was transported to Sultanah Hajah Kalsom Hospital in Tanah Rata, where he was pronounced dead. An autopsy conducted at Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital’s forensics unit determined that the death resulted from a severed carotid artery.

The forensic analysis revealed multiple wounds inflicted by a sharp object on the victim’s neck, head, chin, right cheek, and beneath the right ear, as well as a five-centimeter gash on the abdomen. Both suspects have been presented in court for remand under Section 117 of the Criminal Procedure Code. The case is currently being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
