Penampang: Two people were killed and another injured after the vehicle they were in lost control and plunged into a ravine at Kampung Moyog, Penampang, near here last night. The Sabah Operations Centre of the Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM), in a statement, confirmed the fatalities, stating that the two individuals, aged 40 and 49, were pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the emergency services received a distress call at 8.15 pm, prompting the dispatch of nine firefighters and a fire engine to the accident site. The statement highlighted that the incident involved a four-wheel drive vehicle, which lost control before plummeting into the ravine.

The JBPM reported that the bodies of the deceased were handed over to the police for further action. The incident has raised concerns about road safety in the area, although specific details about the cause of the accident have not been disclosed.
