Kuala lumpur: Two Chinese tourists are feared missing after failing to check out of their accommodation on Mantanani Island off Kota Belud last Sunday.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Sabah Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) director Mohd Pisar Aziz reported that the 25-year-old man and the 28-year-old woman had checked into the Sutera Mantanani Resort on Saturday. They were scheduled to check out on October 5 and depart from the island, but have not been seen since. Their personal belongings remain in their room.
Mohd Pisar Aziz stated that the Kota Belud Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) received an emergency call from the Kota Belud police station yesterday at 9.25 am. In response, firemen and members of the Water Rescue Unit (PPDA) were dispatched to collect information and conduct search and rescue operations. The efforts are being supported by several other agencies.
