Shah alam: Two boys were discovered drowned at Jalan Cili Merah, Section 24, reportedly after swimming in a waterlogged area at the Klang River Flood Mitigation Project site, local police stated.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Shah Alam police chief ACP Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim explained that witness accounts revealed the victims, aged nine and 12, had ventured to the area to swim before their tragic drowning. The police received notification of the incident at 8.50 pm last night from a concerned member of the public.
ACP Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim clarified that examinations of the victims’ bodies showed no signs of struggle or injuries that might have contributed to their deaths. The bodies have been sent to Shah Alam Hospital for post-mortem examinations to ascertain the cause of death.
The case has been classified as sudden death. Authorities are requesting anyone with additional information regarding the incident to reach out to Investigating Officer Inspector Mohd Fildza Che Ibrahim at 016-9537372.
The boys were found unconscious at the scene and were pronounced dead shortly thereafter.
