TVS To Have Its Own Building By 2027

Sarawak: Sarawak-owned television station, TVS, under its parent company, Sarawak Media Group (SMG), is set to have its own building by 2027. Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg announced that the building would be constructed on a site near the Baitul Makmur Building in Petra Jaya and would feature state-of-the-art broadcasting infrastructure, allowing TVS to provide international-level coverage.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Premier Abang Johari emphasized the significance of the new building as Sarawak prepares to host the 2027 SEA Games. TVS will serve as the broadcaster covering the events in Sarawak, making it essential for the building to be equipped with the necessary facilities to provide live broadcasts to participating countries in the SEA Games.

He also highlighted that the Sarawak government took the initiative to establish the television station five years ago to invest in nurturing local talent in the creative industry. The premier noted the importance of providing a platform for young people who have pursued Mass Communication degrees at various universities to showcase and introduce their creativity.
