TVET Strengthens National Competitiveness, A Top Choice For Skilled Workforce Training – Ahmad Zahid

Kuala Lumpur: Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) is no longer considered a second option, but rather as the main platform in producing a competitive workforce, thus strengthening the country’s competitiveness, said Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi. Ahmad Zahid, who is also the chairman of the National TVET Committee, emphasized the role of TVET in enhancing the recognition of graduates internationally.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, there are various TVET institutions nationwide that offer courses in fields such as automotive, electrical, cooking, information technology, tailoring, and hospitality. Ahmad Zahid encouraged making TVET the main career choice and promoted it on the X platform, urging people to “Let’s Enter TVET!”

Currently, there are 673 public TVET institutions, 697 private institutions, and 28 under state governments, as shared in an infographic accompanying Ahmad Zahid’s post.

Furthermore, Ahmad Zahid, who also serves as the Minister of Rural and Regional Development, announced that applications for the Premier UP_TVET for the July intake are now open. There are two categories of applications: non-interview courses, with applications open until June 15, and courses requiring an interview, with applications open until May 30.
