Turtles’ Top Three Dream Fading After Heartbreaking Defeat To KL City

Terengganu: Terengganu FC’s (TFC) chances of finishing in the top three of the Super League are becoming increasingly difficult after a narrow 1-2 defeat to Kuala Lumpur City FC (KL City FC) last night. Head coach Badrul Afzan Razali said the defeat cost the Turtles three valuable points in front of their home supporters. He said poor finishing remains a major problem in the attacking department, causing many goal-scoring opportunities to be wasted.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Badrul Afzan Razali expressed his concerns over the team’s performance, stating, “We started rather slowly, especially in the first half. We made a lot of mistakes, which led to us conceding the second goal in the final minutes of the match. In the second half, we pushed forward and created many chances, but once again, poor finishing haunted our team,” he told the post-match press conference at the Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Stadium (SSMZA) here. However, the 49-year-old coach refuses to give up and has urged his players to bounce back in their upcoming match against Kuching City FC at SSMZA on Feb 21.

Meanwhile, KL City FC head coach Miroslav Kuljanac said last night’s victory was highly meaningful and served as a morale booster for his team, who had endured several winless matches. “It was a nice and exciting match. Both teams gave their best performance. Maybe we were lucky tonight… we won after a few matches without a victory. I must congratulate my players. They showed fighting spirit. I hope we will continue this in the next match,” he said.
