Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan Visits Bernama Headquarters

Kuala lumpur: Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, who is in Kuala Lumpur for high-level talks being held in conjunction with the 58th ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting (AMM), visited the Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) headquarters on Thursday.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, as part of the visit, an episode of The Nation: Diplomatic Dispatch, titled “Malaysia, Trkiye and the ASEAN Outlook” was recorded. The current affairs programme, produced by Bernama TV, featured Fidan as the special guest.

The episode was hosted by Danial Abdul Rahman. The full interview is scheduled to air at 12 pm on Friday (July 11), with a repeat broadcast at 2 pm on Saturday (July 12) on Bernama TV.

Earlier, Fidan arrived at approximately 5.10 pm and was received by Bernama Chief Executive Officer Datin Paduka Nur-ul Afida Kamaludin and Editor-in-Chief Arul Rajoo Durar Raj. Also present were Deputy Editor-in-Chief (Economic News Service) Azlina Aziz and Executive Editor, currently carrying out the duties of Deputy Editor-in-Chief (International News Service), Mohd Shukri Ishak, along with several senior officials of the national news agency.

Fidan arrived early Thursday morning for high-level talks held in conjunction with the AMM. Turkiye is an ASEAN Sectoral Dialogue Partner. The aircraft carrying Fidan landed at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) at 2.30 am.

The 58th AMM and related meetings, which began on Tuesday, are being held under Malaysia’s ASEAN Chairmanship for 2025, with the theme ‘Inclusivity and Sustainability’. More than 1,500 delegates from ASEAN and its external partners are participating in 24 ministerial-level meetings over four days.
