Tunku Abdul Rahman Seals Second Place In GT World Challenge Asia Pro-Am Championship

Beijing: Tunku Panglima of Johor, Tunku Abdul Rahman Sultan Ibrahim, ended the 2025 GT World Challenge Asia season on a strong note after finishing second overall in the Pro-Am championship at the final round in Beijing yesterday. Both Johor Motorsport Racing (JMR) Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R entries delivered solid performances on the new Beijing Street Circuit, each claiming second-place finishes as the season concluded.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the final race ended under safety car conditions, with Green and Tunku Abdul Rahman taking second place to confirm the latter’s vice-champion status in the Pro-Am drivers’ and third in the GT World Challenge overall standings while Sims and Tunku Abu Bakar finished fifth.

Tunku Abdul Rahman expressed mixed emotions in a statement, acknowledging the missed opportunity for a win due to the safety car conditions but expressing gratitude towards his team. He highlighted the achievements of their first year with the Corvettes and the pride in their display of capability.

Meanwhile, Tunku Abu Bakar reflected on the challenging season, expressing satisfaction with the late-season podium finishes and eagerness to improve in the upcoming season. With the GT World Challenge Asia season completed, JMR will now shift focus to the Asian Le Mans Series, beginning with the home round at the Sepang International Circuit on Dec 13-14.
