Tune Talk Aims For 5 Million Subscribers Before Possible IPO Decision

Kuala lumpur: Tune Talk Sdn Bhd aims to grow its subscriber base to five million by the end of 2027, with a potential initial public offering (IPO) to be evaluated thereafter. Tune Talk co-founder and chief executive officer Gurtaj Singh Padda expressed confidence that the target is achievable, noting that the company currently has 1.8 million subscribers.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Gurtaj Singh Padda stated, "End of 2027 is where we think that we should be closer to five million. That is the North Pole, that is the effort, hopefully we will get there." He also mentioned that any decision regarding going public would involve discussions with the employees, who are the current shareholders. This was disclosed during a media roundtable session.

On February 11, 2026, Tune Talk announced the creation of an Employee Share Trust Scheme (ESTS). This strategic initiative is aimed at recognizing employee contributions and positioning staff as equity participants, while also enhancing long-term financial security for its workforce as the company works towards a potential IPO. The ESTS demonstrates the company's commitment to acknowledging employee efforts and ensuring they benefit directly from the value they help create.

As part of the ESTS, Gurtaj voluntarily transferred 4.15 percent of the total issued share capital of Tune Talk Sdn Bhd into a dedicated Trust Fund for the benefit of Tune Talk employees, managed under a formal Trust Deed. Additionally, the company is focused on expanding its E-Roaming 'Roam As Home' services. The expansion will occur in phases, starting with Zone 1 for Asian countries, followed by additional zones in the subsequent months.

Gurtaj elaborated on the rollout plan, stating, "For Zone 2, we will be in the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan, Egypt, and Oman. Then Zone 3, entire Europe (France, Germany, Spain, Italy, United Kingdom, Netherlands, Switzerland, Portugal, and Denmark)." The company plans to implement Zone 1 by May 1, 2026, with Zone 2 following within a month, and further zones launching in the months thereafter, contingent on successful testing in each country.
