Seremban: Yang Dipertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir has called on all assemblymen to shoulder the responsibility of guiding the people towards a state that is united, peaceful, and prosperous. In his royal address at the opening ceremony of the First Meeting of the Third Session of the 15th Negeri Sembilan State Legislative Assembly, Tuanku Muhriz emphasised the importance of ensuring that all planned development projects are executed effectively and truly benefit the people.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Tuanku Muhriz reminded assemblymen that the public closely observes their actions and decisions, especially in today’s digital age where information is readily accessible. He urged them to engage in debates with rationality and intellect, ensuring that their arguments benefit the community and address the issues faced by the people. Additionally, he called for assemblymen to uphold, protect, preserve, and defend the Federal Constitution and the Negeri Sembilan State Constitution at all times.
Tuanku Muhriz further stressed the need for strict adherence to the Standing Orders during debates and throughout the assembly’s proceedings, urging assemblymen to prioritize the people’s welfare and the state’s prosperity in every statement made. In light of the upcoming Visit Negeri Sembilan Year 2026, he expressed hope that the state government would intensify efforts to promote the state more widely and generate a positive economic impact for the local community.
He highlighted three key tourism segments for attention: the beach resorts in Port Dickson, ecotourism, and the cultural uniqueness of Adat Perpatih in every district. Tuanku Muhriz noted that Negeri Sembilan is blessed with natural beauty and beaches that attract daily visitors, and it is rich in heritage, customs, and diverse cultural identity. He emphasized that tourism is a sustainable and viable economic sector for the state, citing an increase in tourist arrivals from 11.5 million in 2022 to 15 million in 2023, with a target of 20 million visitors for the current year. This goal aligns with the Visit Malaysia Year 2026 and TMNS 2026 campaigns.
