Touch ‘n Go, Proton Ink MoU To Equip New X50 With TnG RFID Tags

Kuala lumpur: Touch ‘n Go Sdn Bhd (TNG) and Proton Holdings Bhd have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to equip every unit of the all-new Proton X50 with a Touch ‘n Go Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID) tag at the production stage.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the parties stated in a joint statement that the initiative reflects their commitment to providing smarter and more convenient driving experiences for Malaysian consumers.

TNG chief executive officer Praba Sangarajoo emphasized that the partnership will create more seamless experiences for customers, making everyday mobility feel easier, faster, and more intuitive.

Proton Edar Sdn Bhd deputy chief executive officer Zhang Qiang noted that the partnership with TNG aligns with Proton X50’s tagline, ‘Intelligence That Amazes’. He mentioned that there is a possibility of extending this feature to other Proton models.

‘We aim to improve customer satisfaction, and we think this is one of the steps we can consider towards achieving that goal,’ Zhang said.

The MoU was signed by Praba and Qiang, with TNG sales director Jarrod Wong and Proton Edar head of sales Ong Chee Wooi as witnesses.

Launched on July 24, the latest Proton X50 includes a redesigned exterior and interior, updated connectivity technology, and a 1.5-litre i-GT turbocharged engine. Proton reported that 2,000 units have been delivered to customers within three weeks of the launch, and over 140,000 units of the earlier X50 model have been sold since its debut.
