Tokyo: Toshiba Electronic Devices and Storage Corporation (“Toshiba”) has introduced a new lens-reduction type CCD linear image sensor, the ‘TCD2728DG’, specifically designed for A3 multifunction printers. The new sensor, which began shipping today, features 7,500 image sensing elements (pixels) and is effective at reducing random noise compared to Toshiba’s previous model, the TCD2726DG.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, there is an increasing demand in business offices for high-speed, high-resolution copying and scanning, especially for large volumes of documents. This demand is particularly significant for A3 multifunction printers, where enhancing image quality by suppressing random noise in the signal is becoming a critical factor. The introduction of the TCD2728DG sensor aims to address this need by improving the overall image quality in these devices.
