Tokyo: Toshiba Electronic Devices and Storage Corporation ("Toshiba") has introduced the "TCD2400DG," a lens-reduction type CCD linear image sensor specifically designed for line scan cameras employed in visual inspection processes. The company announced that shipments of the new sensor commence today.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the image inspection equipment incorporating line scan cameras, such as color sorters, serves a range of applications. These applications include sorting and grading foodstuffs, detecting and removing foreign objects, identifying types of recycled plastics, and spotting scratches or stains on industrial products. The launch of the TCD2400DG sensor aims to enhance the efficiency and speed of data readouts in these inspection tasks.
