Toshiba Launches Automotive Digital Isolators Compliant with AEC-Q100

Tokyo: Toshiba Electronic Devices and Storage Corporation (“Toshiba”) has launched a line of 2-channel high-speed standard digital isolators designed specifically for automotive applications. This new “DCM32xx00 Series” consists of four devices that boast high common-mode transient immunity (CMTI) of 100kV/µs and a data transmission rate of up to 50Mbps. All devices in this series meet the AEC-Q100 standard, ensuring safety and reliability for automotive electronic components. Shipments of these devices commence today.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the safety and reliability of on-board chargers (OBC) and battery management systems (BMS) in hybrid-electric vehicles (HEV) and electric vehicles (EV) hinge on devices that can ensure effective isolation and prevent noise propagation. The introduction of automotive standard digital isolators addresses the need for multi-channel high-speed communications and high CMTI, which are critical for these isolation devices.
