Melbourne: National mixed doubles badminton player Toh Ee Wei has successfully undergone surgery on her left knee in Melbourne, Australia, after sustaining an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury during last month's Singapore Open. According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) announced today that the procedure was completed successfully yesterday. Ee Wei will now focus on her rehabilitation and recovery process. BAM assured that they will continue to provide her with the necessary medical and rehabilitation support throughout her recovery and expressed their best wishes for her return to competition. In the same statement, Ee Wei expressed her gratitude to everyone who sent messages of encouragement over the past few weeks. "I am relieved that the surgery went well and would like to thank everyone for the overwhelming support and well wishes. It means a lot to me," she said. She emphasized her commitment to the rehabilitation process and her determination to return to the court stronger. Previously, BAM confirmed that Ee Wei suffered the injury during the quarter-finals of the Singapore Open 2026 in May.
