Kuala lumpur: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning of thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds in 10 states until 5 pm today. This alert comes as the department forecasts adverse weather conditions across several regions, urging residents to remain cautious.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the entire states of Kelantan and Perlis are expected to experience these weather disturbances. Additionally, specific areas in Kedah such as Langkawi, Kubang Pasu, Kota Setar, Baling, Sik, Padang Terap, Pokok Sena, and Pendang are identified as potential hotspots for the adverse weather.
The warning also extends to Hulu Perak in Perak and covers Besut and Setiu in Terengganu. In Pahang, areas including Cameron Highlands, Lipis, Raub, Bentong, Pekan, and Rompin are on alert. Selangor regions such as Hulu Selangor, Gombak, and Hulu Langat, along with Jelebu, Seremban, Port Dickson, Kuala Pilah, and Rembau in Negeri Sembilan, are also anticipated to be affected.
Furthermore, MetMalaysia's alert includes Alor Gajah and Melaka Tengah in Melaka. In Sabah, the warning encompasses the West Coast, the Interior regions of Tambunan, Keningau, Sook, Pensiangan, Membakut, and Tenom, as well as Sandakan areas like Tongod, Telupid, and Paitan, and Kudat regions including Kota Marudu and Pitas.
Residents in these areas are advised to take necessary precautions to ensure safety and minimize potential disruptions due to the severe weather conditions expected throughout the day.
