Kuala lumpur: Thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds are expected to affect much of Peninsular Malaysia, as well as several areas in Sarawak and Sabah, until 7 pm today, according to the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia).
According to BERNAMA News Agency, in a warning issued at 4.30 pm, MetMalaysia said the severe weather is expected to hit several areas in Kedah, including Yan, Kuala Muda, Sik, Baling, Kulim, and Bandar Baharu, as well as Penang.
In Perak, the affected areas include Kerian, Larut, Matang dan Selama, Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Manjung, Kinta, Central Perak, and Kampar. Kelantan regions such as Tumpat, Pasir Mas, Kota Bharu, Jeli, Tanah Merah, Bachok, Machang, Pasir Puteh, and Kuala Krai are expected to be affected, along with the entire state of Terengganu.
Similar weather conditions are also forecast in Pahang, covering Cameron Highlands, Lipis, Jerantut, Temerloh, Maran, and Kuantan. In Selangor, areas such as Sabak Bernam, Kuala Selangor, Klang, Gombak, Petaling, Kuala Langat, Hulu Langat, and Sepang are on alert, as well as Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, and Johor, particularly Batu Pahat, Kluang, and Pontian.
Meanwhile, warnings have been issued for various areas in Sarawak, including Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei, Sibu, Mukah, Kapit (including Song and Kapit), Bintulu, Miri, and Limbang. In Sabah, the alert covers regions in the interior, such as Sipitang, Tenom, and Beaufort, as well as the west coast, including Papar.
