Kuala lumpur: Thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds are expected to hit most states until 5 pm today, according to the Malaysian Meteorological Department.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, an alert issued at 2.30 pm by MetMalaysia outlines that Perlis, as well as several areas in Kedah including Kubang Pasu, Padang Terap, Kuala Muda, Sik, Baling, Kulim, and Bandar Baharu, are expected to experience adverse weather conditions. The alert extends to Penang, covering Seberang Perai Utara, Seberang Perai Tengah, and Seberang Perai Selatan.
In Perak, the regions of Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, Kampar, Batang Padang, and Mualim are under similar warnings. Pahang's Cameron Highlands, Lipis, Raub, Jerantut, Bentong, Kuantan, Pekan, and Rompin are also predicted to be affected. Meanwhile, in Selangor, the areas of Hulu Selangor and Hulu Langat are on alert for severe weather.
The warning also spans across Negeri Sembilan, including Seremban, Port Dickson, and Rembau, as well as Melaka in Alor Gajah and Melaka Tengah. In Johor, regions such as Segamat, Kluang, Mersing, Pontian, Kulai, Kota Tinggi, and Johor Bahru are expected to be impacted.
In Sarawak, the affected areas include Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei, Sibu, Mukah, Bintulu, Miri, and Limbang. Sabah's interior regions such as Sipitang, Tenom, Kuala Penyu, Beaufort, Nabawan, as well as the west coast, Tawau, and Kudat are also under warning.
