Kuala lumpur: Most states in Peninsular Malaysia, along with several areas in Sabah, Sarawak, and the Federal Territory of Labuan, are anticipated to experience thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds until 5 pm today.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) issued a statement highlighting the regions affected by this weather warning.
The weather advisory covers the entire regions of Perlis and Penang. In Kedah, the districts of Langkawi, Kubang Pasu, Padang Terap, Sik, Baling, Kulim, and Bandar Baharu are expected to face adverse weather conditions. Similarly, in Perak, areas including Kerian, Larut, Matang and Selama, Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Manjung, Kinta, Perak Tengah, Kampar, Batang Padang, and Muallim are under the warning.
Additionally, the alert has been extended to Cameron Highlands, Raub, Bentong, and Rompin in Pahang; Hulu Selangor, Gombak, and Hulu Langat in Selangor; as well as Jelebu, Seremban, Kuala Pilah, Jempol, and Tampin in Negeri Sembilan. The districts of Mersing and Kota Tinggi in Johor are also included in the warning.
In Sabah, the Interior division, encompassing Sipitang, Tenom, Kuala Penyu, Beaufort, and Tambunan, as well as the West Coast, Kunak, and Lahad Datu in Tawau, Beluran in Sandakan, Kudat, and the Federal Territory of Labuan are expected to experience severe weather. Meanwhile, in Sarawak, the affected areas include Bau and Kuching in the Kuching division; Samarahan; Sri Aman; Pusa and Betong in Betong; Pakan and Julau in Sarikei; Sibu and Kanowit in Sibu; Matu and Dalat in Mukah; Song in Kapit; Bintulu; Subis, Beluru, Miri and Marudi in Miri; and Limbang.
