Thunderstorms and Heavy Rain Expected to Hit Nine States and Major Federal Territories

Kuala lumpur: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning for thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds affecting nine states and the Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, and Labuan until 5 pm today.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, MetMalaysia's statement indicates that the weather alert includes specific areas within the states of Kedah, Perak, and Penang. In Kedah, the regions of Kuala Muda, Sik, Baling, Kulim, and Bandar Baharu are expected to experience severe weather. For Perak, the areas of Kerian, Larut, Matang and Selama, Hulu Perak, Bagan Datuk, and Hilir Perak are under watch, while similar conditions are predicted for Penang.

The warning extends to Selangor, covering Sabak Bernam, Kuala Selangor, Klang, Gombak, Petaling, Kuala Langat, Hulu Langat, and Sepang. Negeri Sembilan areas such as Seremban, Port Dickson, and Rembau are also included. In Johor, the affected regions are Pontian, Kulai, Kota Tinggi, and Johor Bahru, along with the state of Melaka.

In Sarawak, the forecast involves Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei, Sibu, Mukah, Kapit, Bintulu, Miri, and Limbang. Specific areas like Bau and Kuching in Kuching, and Song and Bukit Mabong in Kapit are highlighted.

For Sabah, the alert encompasses the Interior regions including Sipitang, Kuala Penyu, and Beaufort, the West Coast areas such as Papar, Putatan, Penampang, Kota Kinabalu, Tuaran, and Kota Belud, as well as Tawau and Kudat.
