KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning regarding impending thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds expected to hit Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, and eight Malaysian states. The weather alert is in effect until 9 p.m. today.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the affected areas include several regions in Kedah, namely Yan, Pendang, Kuala Muda, Sik, Baling, Kulim, and Bandar Baharu. The warning extends to the states of Penang, Perak, and to Pahang, specifically targeting the Cameron Highlands region.
The advisory also highlights potential adverse weather conditions for Selangor and parts of Johor, including Batu Pahat, Pontian, and Johor Bahru. In addition, several areas in Sarawak, such as Sarikei, Sibu, Kapit, Bintulu, and Limbang, are under alert. In Sabah, the warning encompasses the interior regions of Sipitang, Tenom, and Nabawan, as well as the districts of Tawau and Sandakan.
Residents in these areas are advised to stay updated on weather reports and take necessary precautions to ensure safety.
