Thunderstorm, Heavy Rain Warning Issued for Five Malaysian States

Kuala lumpur: Four states in Peninsular Malaysia along with Sarawak are bracing for adverse weather conditions, as thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds are expected to continue until 1 pm today. The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning indicating that the entire regions of Perlis and Melaka will be affected.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, MetMalaysia's statement highlights specific areas within the affected states. In Kedah, Langkawi, Kubang Pasu, Kota Setar, Pokok Sena, and Padang Terap have been identified as regions under the weather warning. In Selangor, Kuala Selangor, Sabak Bernam, Hulu Selangor, and Gombak are forecasted to experience the turbulent weather. Meanwhile, in Sarawak, the warning covers Bintulu and parts of Miri, including Subis, Miri, Beluru, and Marudi.

In addition to the weather warning, MetMalaysia has also released a Tropical Storm Advisory related to a storm named NARRA, detected in northwestern China. The advisory clarifies that the tropical storm, located at latitude 19.9° north and longitude 108.0° east, roughly 114 kilometers northwest of Basuo, China, and 1,650 kilometers north of Tumpat, Kelantan, as of 8 am today, with wind speeds reaching up to 65 kph, is not expected to have a significant impact on Malaysia.
