Kuala lumpur: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning of thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds affecting 10 states until 6 pm today. The alert highlights potential severe weather across various regions, urging residents to take necessary precautions.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, MetMalaysia's statement indicates that the entire states of Perlis and Penang, along with designated areas in Kedah such as Kubang Pasu, Pokok Sena, Padang Terap, Pendang, Sik, Baling, Kulim, and Bandar Baharu, are expected to experience the adverse weather conditions.
In Perak, the warning covers regions including Kerian, Larut, Matang and Selama, Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, Kampar, Bagan Datuk, Hilir Perak, Batang Padang, and Muallim. The east coast states are not exempt, with Hulu Terengganu in Terengganu, and Kelantan's Tanah Merah, Machang, Kuala Krai, and Gua Musang also on alert.
Pahang's areas such as Jerantut, Bentong, Temerloh, Maran, Bera, and Rompin are included in the warning. In Selangor, the affected regions are Sabak Bernam, Kuala Selangor, Hulu Selangor, Klang, Gombak, Petaling, and Kuala Langat. Additionally, Jelebu and Jempol in Negeri Sembilan, along with Tangkak, Segamat, Muar, Batu Pahat, Pontian, and Johor Bahru in Johor, may also face similar weather conditions.
