Kuala lumpur: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a thunderstorm warning for several areas in Peninsular Malaysia, Sarawak, and the Federal Territory of Labuan until noon today.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, MetMalaysia has indicated that thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds are anticipated in various regions, including Kuala Muda, Baling, Kulim, and Bandar Baharu in Kedah, along with the entire state of Penang. In Perak, the warning pertains to Kerian, Larut, Matang and Selama, Manjung, and Bagan Datuk. Rompin in Pahang is also expected to experience similar weather conditions.
The advisory further extends to Jempol and Tampin in Negeri Sembilan, the entirety of Melaka, as well as Tangkak, Segamat, Muar, Kulai, Kota Tinggi, and Johor Bahru in Johor. In Sarawak, Tatau and Bintulu in the Bintulu Division, along with Subis, Miri, and Marudi in the Miri Division, are under the weather alert. Labuan is also expected to experience thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds during this period.
MetMalaysia has urged the public to stay vigilant to weather changes and advised them to seek regular updates through the department's official channels.
