Thunderstorm Alert Issued for Multiple Malaysian States

Kuala lumpur: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning for thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds affecting several states, including Perak, Kelantan, Pahang, Selangor, Sabah, and Sarawak, with the conditions expected to persist until 7 pm today.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, MetMalaysia's statement specifies the affected areas in Perak as Kerian, Larut, Matang and Selama, Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, Perak Tengah, Kampar, Hilir Perak, Batang Padang, and Muallim. In Kelantan, the regions of Jeli and Gua Musang are expected to experience adverse weather conditions. The warning extends to Pahang, covering Cameron Highlands, Lipis, and Raub, along with Hulu Selangor in Selangor.

The alert also includes parts of Sabah, specifically the interior region of Nabawan and Tawau. In Sarawak, areas such as Betong, Sarikei, Sibu (specifically Selangau), and Mukah (including Tanjung Manis and Daro) are under the thunderstorm warning. Residents in these regions are advised to stay alert and take necessary precautions as the adverse weather conditions could lead to hazardous situations.
