Kuala Lumpur: Theta Edge Bhd and Agmo Holdings Bhd have announced the formation of a joint venture company (JVco) aimed at accelerating the commercialization of disruptive technologies, with a primary focus on the deployment of artificial intelligence (AI) within the public sector.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the joint venture has been established between Theta’s subsidiary, Theta Technologies Sdn Bhd, and Agmo’s wholly-owned unit, Agmo Capital Sdn Bhd. The collaboration seeks to leverage Agmo’s proficiency in agile platform development and Theta’s expertise across various domains to create a significant impact across multiple sectors, including financial services, healthcare, halal trade, smart logistics, and public services.
Theta’s group managing director and CEO, Datuk Nuraslina Zainal Abidin, emphasized the potential of this collaboration by highlighting their ongoing project with the National Cancer Society Malaysia. She noted that this is just the beginning of numerous real-world applications where AI will significantly transform service delivery.
Agmo CEO Tan Aik Keong stated that the joint venture aims to develop systems that are both future-ready and data-secure, meeting the evolving needs of clients in rapidly digitizing sectors. The collaboration represents a strategic shift for Theta from traditional system delivery to scalable, AI-driven solutions, while Agmo contributes its extensive experience in delivering successful digital solutions.
The joint venture will also benefit from Agmo’s ready-to-market solutions, which include a range of innovative technologies such as a generative AI chatbot, an e-invoicing middleware platform, localized large language models, telehealth systems, and blockchain-based verification platforms. These solutions are designed to be advantageous for both large enterprises and emerging startups.
