Lembaga tabung haji: Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) needs to bolster its institutional sustainability to ensure that it is not only able to survive in the long term, but also has a strong governance structure, risk management, and investment strategy to protect the interests of depositors.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Universiti Teknologi MARA Faculty of Business and Management senior lecturer Abdul Rahim Ridzuan emphasized the importance of the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) Report in restoring confidence through transparency and building a more robust system for society. He stressed the need for the RCI to serve as a foundation for reform, preventing the recurrence of past weaknesses.
Abdul Rahim highlighted the interdependence of economic growth and confidence in institutions, noting that a strong economy relies on trusted institutions. He explained that maintaining confidence in institutions is more manageable when economic growth brings tangible benefits to the populace.
He elaborated on the economic chain, stating that good governance fosters confidence, which in turn attracts investment. He pointed out that increased investments enhance capacity and technology, thereby boosting productivity. This process, he noted, leads to the creation of high-value jobs and ultimately raises wages and purchasing power.
Abdul Rahim concluded by underscoring the significance of this economic chain, emphasizing the aim to achieve it to the greatest extent possible.
