PUTRAJAYA: The Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) has taken a significant step in enhancing the management of Malaysian Haj pilgrims by appointing 37 local travel companies, including its subsidiary Tabung Haji Travel and Services Sdn Bhd (THTS), as Haj Pilgrimage Operators (PJH) for the 1446H/2025M Haj season. Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Dr Mohd Na’im Mokhtar emphasized that the increase from 25 operators in the previous season reflects TH’s commitment to providing opportunities for qualified local travel companies.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Mohd Na’im expressed confidence in the selected PJH companies’ capabilities, highlighting their capacity, expertise, and commitment to ensuring the welfare of Malaysian Haj pilgrims. He stated that TH is open to granting PJH licenses to any travel companies that meet the qualifications and pass TH’s rigorous assessment process.
The minister announced that travel companies interested in managing Haj pilgrims can apply for a licens
e through the Haj Agency System, available on the TH website. This digital platform aims to streamline applications, evaluations, and the monitoring of services provided by PJH, thereby enhancing service quality and simplifying oversight during the Haj season.
Mohd Na’im urged all PJH for the 1446H Haj season to continue offering economic Haj packages below RM50,000, aiming to make the pilgrimage more affordable for prospective pilgrims. He also addressed the ongoing issue of fraudulent Haj and Umrah packages, advising the public to ensure that they choose licensed companies for their pilgrimage arrangements.
He reminded prospective pilgrims of the strict regulations enforced by the Saudi Arabian government, particularly the requirement for a valid Haj permit, and encouraged compliance to avoid complications in the Holy Land. The list of the 37 appointed PJH companies can be accessed through the TH website.
