T’ganu Crown Prince Calls For Closer State-Federal Collaboration To Preserve Biodiversity.

Kuala Terengganu: T’ganu Crown Prince has called for enhanced collaboration between state and federal authorities to preserve biodiversity. He emphasized the importance of implementing continuous collaboration at various levels to maintain environmental balance for the benefit of humanity.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Crown Prince highlighted the threats facing biodiversity, which include climate change, habitat destruction, chemical pollution, and atmospheric disruption. He described biodiversity as a divine gift and stressed the importance of maintaining nature’s balance. The Crown Prince expressed the necessity for a special collaboration between state and federal governments to protect biodiversity effectively.

He further elaborated on the need for collaboration in scientific and technical expertise, comprehensive data, financial resources, and policy coordination to strengthen conservation efforts. He also highlighted the importance of engaging private sectors, academics, local communities, an
d other entities in fulfilling the shared responsibility of safeguarding biological diversity for the nation’s benefit.

The Crown Prince delivered these remarks during the opening of the Terengganu Biodiversity Seminar 2024, themed “Safeguarding Biodiversity for a Sustainable Future.” The seminar was attended by 300 participants, including academics, environmental NGOs, and government agency representatives.
