Kuala Lumpur: Terengganu UMNO will soon send machinery to assist the Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate’s campaign in the Ayer Kuning state by-election next month. Terengganu UMNO chairman Datuk Rozi Mamat announced that the state UMNO has been entrusted to support two polling districts, specifically Kampung Raya and Pekan Getah.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Rozi stated that they have already dispatched a working secretary to Perak to coordinate the activities that will be implemented. The deployment of party machinery will be determined based on the actual needs of the campaign. This announcement was made during a press briefing after Rozi broke fast with Terengganu media practitioners on Wednesday.

Rozi detailed that each polling district will receive support from machinery associated with four divisions of Terengganu UMNO. The divisions involved include Kuala Terengganu, Marang, Dungun, Kemaman, as well as Besut, Setiu, Kuala Nerus, and Hulu Terengganu.

The Election Commission (EC) has scheduled the p
olling day for the Ayer Kuning state by-election on April 26, with nomination and early voting set for April 12 and 22, respectively. The by-election was necessitated by the passing of the incumbent, Ishsam Shahruddin, who died of a heart attack on February 22.
