Terengganu Turtles Aim for Premier League Return in Sepak Takraw

Terengganu:The Terengganu Turtles sepak takraw team is targeting a comeback to the Sepak Takraw League (STL) Premier League next year following their relegation last season. According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Terengganu Turtles Sepaktakraw Association president, Tengku Zaihan Che Ku Abd Rahman, stated that the team has bolstered its lineup for the 2026 STL Division One competition to achieve this goal. The inclusion of national players Aidil Aiman Azwawi and Muhammad Zulkifli Abd Razak, who recently contributed to Malaysia's gold win in the men's team regu event at the Asian Games, is expected to play a crucial role in their promotion efforts. In addition to the national players, the squad has added experienced players Meor Mohamad Zulfikar Mat Amin (tekong), Mohamad Azim Azizul (right feeder), and Thai import Saenkrai Dowrueang (right feeder) for the upcoming competition, which kicks off on October 7. "We have been preparing since early this year to ensure that Terengganu Turtles can return to the STL' s top tier, the Premier League, next season. Last year, we were relegated to Division One after finishing only 11th in the Premier League," Tengku Zaihan remarked at the player introduction ceremony for the 2026 STL Division One competition held last night. The team, under the guidance of head coach Natongsak Jittisak, also includes players Muhamad Khairul Aman Mohd Rosdi (right feeder), Muhammad Afif Jazimin Zainal Abidin (left feeder), and Muhammad Amar Roslan (tekong).
