Terengganu State Assembly Congratulates Parliament For Organising 46th AIPA

Kuala lumpur: The Terengganu State Assembly today congratulated the Malaysian Parliament for successfully hosting the 46th ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA). State Assembly Speaker Datuk Mohd Nor Hamzah expressed his appreciation for the orderly, dignified, and commendable manner in which the assembly was conducted alongside the 46th ASEAN Summit chaired by Malaysia.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Datuk Mohd Nor Hamzah, in his opening speech at the second meeting of the third term of the 15th State Assembly, emphasized the House’s full support for the initiative. He expressed hope that the 46th AIPA General Assembly would achieve success, enhancing the stature of Malaysia’s legislative institutions regionally and internationally.

He highlighted that Malaysia has organized several significant AIPA-related meetings since the start of the year. These include the Fourth Meeting of the Coordinating Committee of Women Parliamentarians of AIPA (WAIPA) in Sarawak in April, the Second AIPA Young Parliamentarians Consultation Meeting in Selangor in May, and the AIPA Advisory Council on Dangerous Drugs (AIPACODD) Meeting in Pahang in June.

Datuk Mohd Nor Hamzah noted that these meetings provide platforms to discuss key issues such as the role of women and youth, social security, drug-related challenges, and policy coordination to promote inclusive development and a sustainable ASEAN.

He further mentioned that the upcoming 46th AIPA General Assembly, set to take place from September 16 to 22 in Kuala Lumpur, will culminate the preceding consultation sessions. This event is viewed as a crucial opportunity for Malaysia to exhibit the leadership of its Parliament in advancing the ASEAN Community Vision 2045.
