Kuala terengganu: Terengganu Police have mobilised a total of 1,327 personnel and officers to assist in flood operations in the state throughout the Northeast Monsoon period which has already begun. Terengganu Deputy Police Chief ACP Suffian Sulaiman said the total number involves 130 officers, 1,013 personnel, and 64 civil servants.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, 120 members from the Federal Reserve Unit (FRU), General Operations Force (PGA), and Marine Police Force (PPM) are also involved in assisting with the flood disaster operations. Suffian stated that this step was taken to ensure the smooth running of operations to assist flood-affected victims throughout Terengganu. He made these remarks while speaking to reporters after conducting a working visit to the Kemaman District Police Headquarters (IPD) in the presence of Kemaman District Police Chief Supt Mohd Razi Rosli.
Suffian added that leave for all personnel and officers has been frozen throughout the Northeast Monsoon, except for emergency cases. Meanwhile, he advised residents living in flood-prone areas to immediately evacuate to temporary evacuation centers (PPS) if instructed by the authorities.
He also reminded the public not to treat the flood as a ‘water festival’ by bringing family members to wade through the floodwaters to prevent unwanted incidents from occurring.
