Perai:Ten individuals, including eight senior citizens, successfully escaped a fire that destroyed four terrace houses at Taman Senangin around midnight.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Penang Fire and Rescue Department quickly responded to the incident. Assistant Director of Operations John Sagun Francis stated that 24 personnel and fire engines were dispatched following an emergency call received at 12.46 am.
Firefighters managed to prevent the fire from spreading to other nearby houses by 1.23 am, and the blaze was fully extinguished by 1.48 am. They then conducted thorough inspection and clean-up operations to eliminate any remaining fire sources or hazards.
The group of ten who escaped included three men and seven women. The fire caused damage ranging from 30 to 80 percent to the affected houses.
Firefighters from the Perai, Butterworth, Bandar Perda, and Kepala Batas stations were supported by the Chain Ferry Volunteer Fire Brigade in their efforts.
