TEKUN Nasional Distributes RM109 Mln To Sabah Entrepreneurs

Kuala lumpur: TEKUN Nasional, an agency under the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (KUSKOP), has distributed a total of RM109 million to 4,675 TEKUN entrepreneurs in Sabah for the January to September period.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister Datuk Ewon Benedick stated that the Keningau parliamentary constituency received RM8.6 million in financing for 444 TEKUN entrepreneurs within the same timeframe. Since TEKUN Nasional’s inception in 1998 until September 2025, RM1.26 billion has been distributed to 67,248 entrepreneurs in Sabah. Specifically, the Keningau constituency alone has received RM57.6 million, benefiting 2,904 entrepreneurs.

Ewon shared these details during a statement at the TEKUN Nasional Entrepreneurs’ Welcome Ceremony held at Dewan Tomuan Aki Taingadon, Tamu Pekan Bingkor. He emphasized the government’s focus on the SME sector and micro-industry as crucial elements of the country’s economic development, particularly in Sabah, which holds significant entrepreneurial potential.

He highlighted that Budget 2025, themed “The People’s Budget” and tabled by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, demonstrates the government’s dedication by allocating RM2.5 billion to agencies, including TEKUN Nasional and Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN), to support micro entrepreneurs. Ewon also stressed the importance of not only capital but also entrepreneurial knowledge and skills, urging entrepreneurs to participate in training and guidance programs provided by KUSKOP agencies.
