Kuantan: A student from the MARA Junior Science College (MRSM) in Pekan, Pahang, has gone missing after leaving home, with indications that his disappearance is linked to his refusal to return to the school hostel.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Kuantan district police chief ACP Wan Zahari Wan Busu reported that the boy’s mother, aged 41, discovered her 13-year-old son, Anas Baihaqi Miqdad Johari, missing at approximately 4 pm today. She had last seen him at home around 3.30 pm, but he was absent from his room when she checked later.
The mother searched the residential area but was unable to find her son. Anas was last seen wearing a red T-shirt, black track pants, and Puma sneakers.
Wan Zahari revealed that the teenager had expressed to his mother his reluctance to return to the hostel, as he preferred to stay with his family. It was found that he left home carrying his younger brother’s mobile phone, which remains reachable but unanswered, along with a school backpack and approximately RM200 in cash.
The police have urged anyone with information or who may have seen the teenager to contact the nearest police station.
