Kelantan: Kelantan police chief Datuk Mohd Yusoff Mamat stated that a 15-year-old girl, discovered offering sexual services via Telegram in Pasir Puteh, has been placed under the care of the Social Welfare Department (JKM). The decision was made after police considered her age and background, noting a history of being a rape victim.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Mohd Yusoff explained that initial investigations revealed the girl had been living with her father following her parents’ separation. This challenging family situation may have driven her to seek an outlet through inappropriate means. He emphasized the importance of not merely viewing this case as a criminal act but addressing it with comprehensive rehabilitation.

“We cannot rule out the possibility that someone exploited the girl’s dire situation,” Mohd Yusoff remarked. He stressed the need for a thorough approach to ensure proper rehabilitation, speaking after the investiture ceremony for the 56th birthday of Sultan Muhammad V at the Istana Balai Besar.

The case surfaced after a police report was filed last Saturday by a single mother, who suspected her daughter was offering sexual services on the platform.
