Teen Drowns After Falling While Fishing In Port Dickson

Port Dickson: A 17-year-old boy was found drowned after he was believed to have fallen into the sea while fishing near the Kampung Gelam Fishermen’s Jetty here yesterday. The tragic incident has left the local community in shock as efforts were made to recover the young man’s body.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Port Dickson Fire and Rescue Station senior operations commander Mohd Kamal Mohd Timar stated that the victim’s body was discovered at 12.28 am today, approximately 50 metres from the location where he had reportedly fallen. The boy was pronounced dead by medical officers, and his body has been handed over to the police for further investigation.

Mohd Kamal mentioned that his team received an emergency call at 7.28 pm, prompting a swift response from the Port Dickson Fire and Rescue Station. The search and rescue operation was a coordinated effort involving 23 personnel, including two senior officers. The operation was further supported by the Teluk Kemang Water Rescue Team (PPDA), which conducted a thorough search along the shoreline.

PPDA members conducted an intensive search within a 50-metre radius from the shore, focusing on locating the victim, who was a Form Five student from a school in Lukut. The search and rescue team worked diligently to recover the teen, but unfortunately, their efforts resulted in the recovery of a lifeless body.
