Kuala lumpur: Malaysian cyclist Tsen Ren Bao, representing the Australia-based St George Continental Cycling Team, is anticipated to draw significant attention at the 2026 Le Tour de Langkawi (LTdL26). Ren Bao, making his third appearance at the race, is expected to showcase his development as a 23-year-old rider.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Ren Bao made his debut at LTdL24 with the national team, finishing 56th overall. His performance saw a notable improvement after joining St George, climbing to 34th place and securing the title of Malaysia's best rider at LTdL25. The St George team, alongside Ren Bao, includes riders Rohan Haydon Smith, Liam Cuthbertson, Jack Lightfoot, Lindon Milostic, and Daniel Whitehouse.

British rider Daniel Whitehouse, 31, who participated in LTdL25, emerged as the team's top performer, finishing 17th overall. Whitehouse, known for his climbing prowess, previously competed for TSG during 2016-2017 and is seen as a versatile rider with the potential to excel in climbing stages. His recent third-place finish at the Tour of Thailand highlights his capability to achieve remarkable results.

The 30th edition of the LTdL will commence with Stage 1 from Shah Alam to Kampar on Sept 27 and conclude with Stage 8 from Muar to Putrajaya on Oct 4, covering a total distance of 1,285.5 kilometers. The 2.ProSeries-ranked LTdL26 is organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports through the National Sports Council, with full support from the Malaysian National Cycling Federation.
