Rembau: A 16-year-old female student with an intellectual disability has accused a teacher of molestation at a school in Rembau on May 5.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Rembau police chief Supt Hasani Hussain reported that the student, part of the Integrated Special Education Programme (PPKI), filed a report at 5.15 pm yesterday. She alleged that a 36-year-old male teacher molested her around 10.40 am. The incident allegedly occurred after the student completed a cross-country run and was experiencing leg pain.

Hasani explained that the student claimed the teacher massaged her legs, starting from the soles of her feet, moving to her calves, and then her thighs. During this massage, the student felt the teacher touched a sensitive area. Initially, she confided in a friend and later informed another teacher about the incident on June 30.

The suspect, who was detained around 10 pm last night, has denied the allegation. The investigation is ongoing under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017.
