Kuala lumpur: Police bail for rapper Wee Meng Chee, known as Namewee, has been extended for another 14 days from tomorrow until December 10. Kuala Lumpur Police Chief Datuk Fadil Marsus announced that the extension is due to the pending toxicology and post-mortem reports concerning the death of Taiwanese influencer Hsieh Yun Hsin, aged 33, which occurred on October 22.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the bail extension was confirmed at 4 pm today. Namewee had been held in remand from November 5 to 13 before being released on police bail, which was initially set to expire today, as authorities awaited the post-mortem results on the deceased.
Hsieh Yun Hsin was found dead in a bathtub in a hotel bathroom located on Jalan Conlay, Kuala Lumpur, on October 22. Her body was subsequently transported to Hospital Kuala Lumpur for a post-mortem examination. The case, originally classified as a sudden death, has since been reclassified and is now being investigated as a murder under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
Namewee is reported to be the last person seen with Hsieh before her untimely death.
