Thinaah and the men's doubles combination of Aaron Chia-Aaron Tai progressed to the semi-finals of the 2026 Taiwan Open in contrasting fashion today. Top seeds Pearly-Thinaah eased past their quarter-final challenge, defeating the home pair Lin Chih-chun-Yang Chu-yun 21-14, 21-17 in just 35 minutes at the Taipei Arena.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the world No. 5 pair Pearly-Thinaah will now face Americans Francesca Corbett and Jennie Gai in the semi-finals. The Malaysian pair holds an advantage, having emerged victorious in both of their previous encounters.

In the men's doubles category, fifth-seeded Chia-Tai had to mount a comeback after losing the first game, eventually overcoming Taiwan's second-seeded Lee Jhe-huei-Yang Po-hsuan 15-21, 21-7, 21-18 in a 44-minute match. The Malaysian duo is set to compete against another Taiwanese pair, Chen Cheng-kuan-Liu Kuang-heng, in the semi-finals scheduled for tomorrow.

However, the tournament concluded for Malaysia's mixed doubles pair Low Zi Yu-Noraqilah Maisarah Ramdan and men's singles player Justin Hoh. World No. 67 Zi Yu-Noraqilah put up a valiant fight but ultimately lost 21-11, 20-22, 22-24 to Thailand's Hathaithip Mijad-Napapakorn Tungkasatan in an intense 65-minute match. Meanwhile, world No. 50 Justin was defeated 17-21, 18-21 by South Korea's world No. 73 Yoo Tae-bin in a 40-minute encounter.
