Kuala lumpur: Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) has emerged as a substantial shareholder in Focus Point Holdings Bhd after acquiring 570,000 ordinary shares in the optical retail chain operator on July 21. The acquisition increases TH's direct stake in the company to a total of 31.078 million ordinary shares, representing a 5.056 percent shareholding. According to BERNAMA News Agency, Focus Point disclosed that the pilgrim's fund previously held a 4.96 percent stake before this latest acquisition. Importantly, the percentage of interest does not account for 1.34 million ordinary shares that the company has bought back and retained as treasury shares. Of the total direct holding of 31.078 million shares, 23.18 million shares are registered under TH. The remaining 7.898 million shares, which include the newly acquired 570,000 shares, are held through Citigroup Nominees (Tempatan) Sdn Bhd - Lembaga Tabung Haji (Eastspring).
