Kuala lumpur: The high level of fighting spirit and energetic performance displayed by the national men's doubles pair, Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin Mohd Rumsani, at the Malaysia Masters 2026 Badminton Championship earned praise from Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi. He said that although the men's doubles title did not favour the national duo, the performance they showed throughout the tournament made all Malaysians incredibly proud.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Ahmad Zahid highlighted the importance of perseverance and urged the athletes to use the experience as motivation for future success. "Keep moving further, bounce back stronger, and use this experience as motivation to achieve greater success on the world stage," he stated in a post on his official Facebook page tonight.
Ahmad Zahid also expressed assurance that all Malaysians will continue to support the pair in their journey. "Keep it up, guys! Malaysians are always standing firmly behind you," he added.
Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin concluded their campaign as runners-up after losing to the Danish pair Daniel Lundgaard-Mads Vestergaard with scores of 16-21, 17-21 in the final match held at the Axiata Arena in Bukit Jalil.
