Kuala lumpur: The government has assured that the system used to implement the RON95 petrol subsidy under the Budi MADANI RON95 (BUDI95) initiative is secure against cyber threats, said Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo. He stated that the cybersecurity aspect of the system had been thoroughly studied to ensure its effectiveness, considering various potential risks.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Gobind emphasized that the system has been designed with potential cyber threats in mind, ensuring its safety for current use. He noted that the Prime Minister has consistently prioritized security in all aspects of digitalization, including the BUDI95 initiative. Security has been given special attention, and the existing system is well-prepared for all eventualities.
Gobind made these remarks during a press conference following the opening of the Cyber Digital Services, Defence and Security Asia Exhibition and Conference (CyberDSA 2025) at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC).
Additionally, Gobind announced the forthcoming launch of the Digital Trust and Data Security Strategy 2026-2030, developed in collaboration with CyberSecurity Malaysia and the National Digital Department. This strategy aims to strengthen cybersecurity and build user confidence over the next five years. Gobind expressed hope that the document would be launched before the end of the year, facilitating future efforts in building digital trust.
