Kuala lumpur: Rapid Bus Sdn Bhd has appointed Syahrul Azmir Ahmad Zaki as its new chief executive officer (CEO), effective today, to lead the company's next phase of public transport transformation.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Syahrul Azmir brings more than 27 years of experience in the logistics, supply chain, and transport sectors and has previously held senior leadership positions at Aramex Malaysia, RUAG Aviation Malaysia, Kerry Logistics, OBYU Holding, and Kontena Nasional Berhad. The company stated that he has extensive expertise in large-scale operations management, asset maintenance, corporate strategy, and implementing transformation initiatives that improve operational efficiency and organisational performance.
His appointment comes as Rapid Bus intensifies efforts to improve service reliability, expand the deployment of electric buses, and enhance the travel experience of millions of Rapid KL and Rapid Penang passengers. This reflects the company's continued commitment to delivering safer, more efficient, sustainable, and customer-oriented public bus services.
Meanwhile, Rapid Bus chairman Datuk Seri Mustafar Ali mentioned that the appointment comes at a crucial time as the company strengthens its public bus network to meet the growing mobility needs of the public. The company emphasized that Syahrul Azmir's extensive experience in leading large-scale operations and driving organisational transformation would further support Rapid Bus' efforts to improve service reliability, enhance customer experience, and accelerate its digitalisation and sustainability agenda.
