Putrajaya: The motorcycle used by two individuals believed to be involved in the attack on the son of former Economy Minister Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli at a shopping mall in Putrajaya was using a fake registration number, police have revealed.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Selangor police chief Datuk Shazeli Kahar stated that an examination of the motorcycle’s registration number confirmed it was falsified, and authorities are actively tracking down the two suspects. “So far, the attackers have been identified as two individuals, but the identities of the suspects have not yet been established,” he said when contacted by Bernama.

Shazeli mentioned that police investigations are ongoing, including efforts to identify the liquid allegedly used in the syringe during the incident. The event is believed to have occurred at about 2 pm at the passenger pick-up and drop-off area of the shopping mall.

The victim, Rafizi’s son, is currently undergoing further examination at a hospital in Selangor. Police are also reviewing closed-circuit camera footage from the scene to gather more information.

Rafizi confirmed in a statement that the attack involved two male suspects dressed in black, wearing helmets, and riding a motorcycle. They allegedly followed his wife’s car, pulled his son away, and stabbed him with a hypodermic needle.
