SEPANG: Police in Sepang have apprehended a 24-year-old man suspected of distributing vape liquid laced with heroin, marking a significant bust in the region’s ongoing battle against drug distribution.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the arrest took place at the suspect’s residence where authorities discovered 13 plastic bottles containing vape liquid suspected to have heroin, with a total weight of 319 grams. The seized items are valued at approximately RM4,200 and were allegedly intended for sale within Sepang. Sepang police chief ACP Norhizam Bahaman provided details of the arrest, noting that the suspect, a single laborer, has three prior records. However, an initial urine screening of the suspect returned negative results.

Further legal proceedings are underway, as the suspect has been charged at the Sepang Magistrate’s Court under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952. This section carries a mandatory death sentence upon conviction.

In a separate incident, Sepang police detained a 35-year-old lorry driver in Sungai Pelek on December 25, suspected of trafficking syabu and ganja. Norhizam detailed that the individual, who has no previous criminal record, tested positive for amphetamine, methamphetamine, and cannabis in an initial urine screening. Authorities seized a transparent plastic packet containing 50.35 grams of suspected syabu and 130.11 grams of compressed dried leaves believed to be ganja, valued at RM9,472.10. The illegal substances were discovered in a crossbody bag carried by the suspect, who is a father of two.

The second suspect has also been charged at the Sepang Magistrate’s Court, with proceedings occurring on December 31. These arrests underline the ongoing efforts by local authorities to curb drug trafficking in the region.
