Kuala lumpur: Suria KLCC is hosting a Hari Raya Aidilfitri campaign from Feb 27 to Apr 5, focusing on Malaysia's cultural heritage with heritage-inspired installations and traditional performances across the KLCC Precinct.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the campaign is in collaboration with local brand Sofia Iman and aims to showcase the nation's cultural identity while supporting tourism efforts.
Suria KLCC executive director and CEO Francis Tan emphasized the importance of safeguarding heritage through the campaign, especially as the nation gears up for Visit Malaysia 2026. He highlighted the precinct as a premier destination for international visitors to experience Malaysian culture.
Sofia Iman founder Faralina Abdul Wahab noted the partnership's focus on modern interpretations of traditional textiles like songket and batik, emphasizing the dedication to cultural roots and craftsmanship.
The KLCC Centre Court and Esplanade have been transformed into a bougainvillaea garden with traditional Malay gazebo structures, featuring 1,710 meters of hand-stamped batik by Sofia Iman. Visitors can also enjoy a live songket weaving demonstration by a master weaver from Terengganu.
The campaign includes heritage touchpoints like traditional games and live Gamelan performances, alongside interactive workshops and a curated photo backdrop. A festive brand film, 'Penjaga Warisan,' has been launched to capture the essence of Malaysia's heritage.
Suria KLCC is also organizing similar campaigns at Alamanda Shopping Centre in Putrajaya and Mesra Mall in Terengganu, with floral-themed gardens, traditional dance performances, and charitable initiatives. In Terengganu, Mesra Mall's celebration includes collaborations with local artisans and live workshops.
